Special Session - Advances in Randomized Search Heuristics: Techniques and Applications in Engineering
This is a track of Third International Conference on Modeling, Simulation, and Applied Optimization (ICMSAO'09).

The proposed session invites researchers to submit papers that present novel applications randomized search heuristics in any area related to various engineering disciplines. In particular, papers that present specific procedures to address complexities in the real-world are most welcome.
The session aims to increase the interest in the application of meta-heuristics to engineering problems, and to present and discuss solutions to issues that hinder the successful implementation of these techniques.
